The color
Think the inner face of a split amethyst, the deep purple of bruised wisteria petals, the dense colour of dried violet blossoms crushed between fingers. Crushed Violet Matte earns its name — this is purple with real weight and presence, not softened by grey or diluted toward lavender. The warm Carmine in its formula prevents it from reading cold or flat, while the Ultramarine base gives it the blue-leaning richness that makes true violets so visually compelling.
Shown on nine skin tones from fair to deep, it wears as a full, dramatic purple smoky eye across all of them — vivid and striking on fair complexions, deeply saturated and jewel-toned on medium and olive tones, and rich with visible colour on deeper complexions where lighter purples often disappear. Green and hazel eyes are particularly electrified by this shade — the complementary contrast is immediate and extraordinary.
